Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Director of AI Systems Tooling & Optimization will lead the evaluation, and enhancement of analytics tools, AI/BI, and agentic integrations across the organization. This role will partner with data science, analytics, and engineering teams to assess emerging technologies, optimize existing platforms, and ensure systems are delivering measurable business value. They will identify opportunities for automation, insight acceleration, and process improvement—whether through AI Agents, BI systems, or other data-driven solutions—while ensuring governance standards, best practices, and performance metrics are met for all analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select, and scale AI/BI, and analytics technologies with proven ROI.
  • Optimize the performance, usability, and adoption of existing tools and platforms.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design, test, and integrate AI Agents and other advanced capabilities into workflows.
  • Identify gaps and recommend new solutions across the analytics and systems tooling stack, including non-AI technologies.
  • Establish governance frameworks, usage guidelines, and performance KPIs for all systems and tools.
  • Lead change management and training to drive adoption of new capabilities.
  • Monitor industry trends to maintain a competitive and innovative tooling ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience programming Python (or a similar language)
  • Experience working with CI/CD managed systems including source control (e.g., Git/GitHub) and IaC (e.g., Terraform)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

Ideal Background

  • Proven leadership in systems, analytics, or AI/BI program management.
  • Experience in optimizing and integrating diverse platforms and tooling.
  • Strong technical and business acumen to bridge data teams and business needs.
  • Skilled in driving organizational adoption of new tools and methods.
  • Hands-on experience with agent platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Google Vertex AI, or similar tools for deploying, orchestrating, and optimizing AI-driven solutions across business processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in agent orchestration using frameworks such as CrewAI, Google ADK, and related technologies to coordinate multi-agent workflows and enhance business automation.

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
