The Role:
Morningstar Managed Investment Data is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join as a Data Research Analyst to focus on data collection, and database quality improvement. This analyst will collaborate closely with colleagues from different teams and locations while participating projects to strengthen our database quality from market and investment angles. This position is based in Chicago and will report to the manager of the Operations Americas Team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform fund data acquisition, data entry, auditing to ensure data and methodologies are in place to meet product requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts to correct and resolve data issues effectively.
- Communicate data requests to data providers, including all necessary data templates and submission instructions and answering any questions.
- Analyze and identify data opportunities through issues and queries.
- Review procedures and work with development team to create analytical tools to streamline the data collection and quality assurance processes.
- Execute project actions to improve work efficiency and data quality.
Requirements:
- Passion for investment data, 1-2 years of work experience in the financial service industry is required.
- Fast learning and flexibility to adapt new things and work with multiple tasks.
- Willingness to collaborate with global teams.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and excellent executive ability.
- Good client-centric mindset, self-learning ability, and time-management skills.
- Fluent oral & written English communication skills.
- Good data analysis and office software skills, such as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
- A bachelor’s degree is required, and knowledge of the investment industry or other professional certificates like PMP or CFA is a plus.
- 1-2 years of work experience in the financial service industry is required.

Total Cash Compensation Range
$58,150.00 - 98,875.00 USD AnnualInclusive of annual base salary and target incentive
