Purpose & general responsibilities of the position
The role acts as a business partner to support and mentor cluster HSE business partners and operational teams across the landside operations of the Logistics and Services (L&S) Products portfolio, especially in the Contract Logistics field. The role provides HSE advice and excellence in HSE matters by fostering collaboration to align with APMM's ESG aspirations and Integrator objectives, driving sustainable and integrated outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of HSE business partners and collaborate with Operation site management team within the geographical cluster to ensure the team deliver the objective as a whole.
- Act as a business partner to South China, Central and West cluster head, site manager and safety champions to align and maintain compliance with the Global HSSE Policy, HSSE Management Framework, and local legislation with site goals.
- Promote HSE and safety culture practices across the South China, Central and West geographical cluster by bringing HSE and compliance to the forefront of cluster operations.
- Deliver training and education in HSE with various stakeholder groups, addressing knowledge gaps.
- Support site Managers / Safety Champions and frontline teams to identify HSE hazards in the workplace (especially for contract logistics field) and select controls to eliminate or reduce these (using the hierarchy of control to select the most appropriate measures).
- Advise site Managers / Safety Champions on how to lead their teams on HSE, share best practices and inspirational success stories, including building the monthly HSSE committee meeting program to ensure alignment of HSE initiatives and programs.
- Lead serious accident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend preventative measures.
- Perform HSE impact and risk assessments during Growth & Integration and support Area HSE head to draft the HSSE Section of Business Case for the sites in scope.
- Support site Waste Coordinators with waste management, inspections, and reporting
- Understand and stay updated on local health, safety and environmental regulations and industry best practices to enhance HSE strategies across the geographical cluster.
- Conduct routine site visits to operational sites and lead the team to regular inspect working practices and factors which may affect worker’s health.
- Collaborate with Operations, HR, Procurement etc, to ensure 3rd party labour HSE controls are in place and also other aspects to improve HSE collectively.
- Support in customer and/or regulatory audits.
- Support in preparation of emergencies.

- Key metrics shared with site management, e.g. Global and local leading and lagging indicators including GEMBA, Learning Teams, Risk Assessments, Incident numbers, on time CAPA completion for global internal HSSE audits.
- Successful go live of operation safely for the new site
- Implementation of the global HSE management framework within scope
- Employee Engagement Survey
- Overall completion of risks reduction projects
Who We Are Looking For:
- Fluent in written and spoken English, and local languages.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively and earn support from stakeholders at all levels, while maintaining a relentless focus on achieving HSE performance goals
- Analytical mindset for incident and trend analysis.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement.
- Ability to influence and drive cultural change.
- General knowledge and experience of HSE risks in logistics, especially in large scale self-managed warehouses.
- University degree in fields of study associated with role (Health & Safety) or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory
- Qualified HSE professional or 15+ years in HSE roles, certified safety engineer or NEBOSH IGC is preferred.
- Proven track record in managing ISO45001 & ISO 14001 audits.
- Experienced in implementation of global HSE management framework at site.
- Preferred to have experience in leading of others.
- Preferred to have a driver’s license
- The role is based in warehouse site while still requires 30% of the time spent on travelling to other cities in scope.
