Software Engineering Advisor

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Advisor with expertise in Teradata, batch processing, and SQL Server and Unix Scripting and COBOL .The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining production systems, ensuring high availability and performance of critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support production systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Teradata database queries, batch jobs, and application performance.
• Execute and monitor batch processes, ensuring timely completion of critical jobs.
• Analyse and resolve failures in SQL Server processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify and fix production issues.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
• Create and maintain documentation for production support processes and incident resolution.
• Provide on-call support for critical production systems as part of a rotation schedule.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding system status, incidents, and resolutions.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in  Unix  , COBOL , Teradata ,Oracle and Python, SQL
• Strong understanding of SQL, with the ability to write complex queries.
• Proven experience in a Production Support or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Teradata and relational databases.
• Experience with batch processing and scheduling tools (e.g., Cron).
• Proficiency in SQL Server, including writing and debugging complex SQL queries.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, or Dynatrace.
• Experience in Java ,Spring Boot
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Required Experience & Education

• 10+ years of experience in production support or a related field.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, but not required.

Location & Hours of Work

• Hyderabad HIH, Sattva Knowledge City ,
• Shift General Shift (11:30 AM - 8:30 PM IST / 1:00 AM - 10:00 AM EST / 2:00 AM - 11:00 AM EDT), Hybrid 3 days Work from Office
