Job Title: Procurement Category Manager - India
Location: Bengaluru - Manyata Tech Park
Business & Team: The Group Procurement team supports Group Corporate Services to deliver leading practice procurement. Group Procurement manages all activities across the procurement lifecycle, namely:
- Requirements gathering & strategy – identify opportunities to add value to the business
- Execution & negotiation – establish the best commercial deals for CBA
- Implement & transition
Impact & contribution: As Manager, India Procurement, you will be part of the Group Procurement Team. This role is responsible for Sourcing, Renewing, Uplifting and Executing contracts for goods and services for the CBA India business. You will be negotiating key deals, managing ongoing supplier relationships, dealing with senior stakeholders to enable great outcomes for the business.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage Renewals/ RFx process / Commercial negotiation- Get quotations, run tenders for sourcing of goods and services. Negotiate best value deals; Project manage large RFx’s to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver projects within expected timelines.
- Contact signing & execution- Using the appropriate contract templates, prepare contract drafts to be shared with suppliers based on service risk profile; Take a lead in contract negotiation with support from Legal and SME’s to negotiate key contract clauses; Get contract signed by the appropriate signatory after completing contract due diligence and reviewing supplier risk memo with the business owner.
- Managing stakeholder- Maintain an active stakeholder management plan with planned timely engagements with all your key stakeholders including business owners and business owner delegates while making sure the stakeholders have a good understanding of the third-party supplier lifecycle process and their roles and responsibilities as per policy; Act as an advisory to the business in helping them manage their contract estate and business obligations.
- Risk Management- Demonstrate a full and comprehensive understanding of risk and risk processes applicable to your role; Provide and deploy appropriate process and governance to address all aspects of risk applicable to your day-to-day work; Ensure that you, and any team members under your leadership, comply with Group policies and procedures and any relevant external legislative requirements.
- People Management / Leadership- The role will be a strong individual contributor working directly with the head of India Procurement on key projects impacting India business; Be a team player, address or raise challenges as appropriate, provide oversight and guidance to the junior staff members as and when required; Lead by example by demonstrating CBA values of Care, Commitment and Courage; Advocate compliance to Bank-wide and Procurement processes and technology.
Essential Skills:
- 10-13 years of strong experience in Sourcing, RFx, contract management, supplier management, supplier governance & performance management with at least 5-8 years of experience in managing and leading a team.
- In depth understanding of the contracting process. Hands on experience in negotiating complex contracts.
- Act as an advisory to business and senior stakeholders through the third-party lifecycle process.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making ability with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, as one team.
- Excellent ability to manage and influence stakeholders and work collaboratively with customers and suppliers.
- Strong experience in supplier negotiation and contract drafting.
- Ability to think laterally and develop new and innovative solutions to problems with capability in procurement related risk management.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Arts, Business Management, Computer Applications, Business Administration, Commerce.
