Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Develop and lead program-wide data management processes, ensuring alignment with global best practices, enterprise-level governance frameworks, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain processes for data ownership and stewardship, documenting and validating the lifecycle of all program datasets, including customer, cost, company, and market data.
  • Define and standardize key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and data transformations to maintain data consistency, accuracy, and reliability across systems and teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify data-related risks through gap analyses, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and integration project teams to design data architecture solutions, ensuring interoperability across platforms and alignment with business requirements.
  • Oversee the master data lifecycle, managing updates, approvals, and documentation while ensuring changes are validated and compliant with governance policies.
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards in collaboration with cross-functional teams to track progress on data quality improvements and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain robust data security and privacy measures, establishing access controls to protect master data and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Position Purpose

Lead the design and implementation of best-in-class data management practices to enhance data integrity, governance, and strategic utility across the region.

Collaborate with global data governance team and regional stakeholders to establish robust data management processes, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance frameworks.

Enable data-driven decision-making by ensuring high-quality, secure, and reliable data across systems and teams.

Enable scalable, and well-governed data environments that support advanced analytics initiatives.

Major / Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and lead program-wide data management processes, ensuring alignment with global best practices, enterprise-level governance frameworks, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the D&A Americas and the Global Digital and TS teams, facilitating ongoing collaboration and technical alignment.
  • Support the implementation of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS) with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Lead architectural discussions and decisions related to data pipelines, storage solutions, and compute environments.
  • Monitor, manage, and optimize resource usage, cost efficiency, and system reliability across analytics platforms.
  • Ensure Databricks policies and best practices are correctly implemented within the region.
  • Lead the strategy for the infrastructure architecture to enable scalability in advanced analytics initiatives within the region.
  • Lead architectural discussions on systems integrations.

Measures

  • Ensure data sources are well governed.
  • Ensure the technical infrastructure is aligned with Advanced D&A Americas strategy
  • Ensure technical infrastructure cost efficiency.
  • Monitor and improve internal customer satisfaction regarding data services.
  • Define and track quantitative targets for data and analytics initiatives, tailored to each project and aligned with Finance objectives.
  • Data catalogues are accessible to everyone and contain the amount of information needed by the users.
  • Ensure governance of the different technical systems and control infrastructure costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• Mba (Desirable).

Experience

  • Proven experience of 5+ years in Data Governance or related fields, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity.
  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles.
  • Experience with Databricks and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of systems integration and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of databases, data integration, and Data modelling.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate data sources.
  • Experience in project management, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Working on remote teams.

Skills And Knowledge

  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python), database systems (e.g., SQL Server) and cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Databricks).
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a highly autonomous way.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate, simplify ideas and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
