Position: Production Manager
Location: Bromborough, Wirral

Based in Bromborough, Teledyne CML Composites is a fast growing manufacturer, supplying carbon/glass fibre composite parts and assemblies to some of the world’s leading aircraft and aero engine producers. Job Purpose:
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the production process for aerospace components. This role requires an understanding of aerospace regulations and quality standards as well as leadership skills.
You will be responsible for ensuring the high quality production of aerospace components and systems. You will lead a team of production Team Leaders and operatives and coordinate various departments to meet production targets, maintain safety standards and comply with aerospace regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Successful management of machining and assembly departments.
- Working towards business objectives.
- Assist in the recruitment of new staff, carrying out succession planning, and to ensure cover is provided for all personnel during holiday periods etc.
- Carry out annual/half yearly appraisals with clear and agreed objectives with Supervisors/Team leaders.
- Providing accurate feedback on performance vs requirements.
- Staff retention and motivation.
- Continually address cost and waste reduction and productivity improvement through Lean initiatives.
- Maintain and manage aerospace facility, ensuring it meets all necessary cleanliness and safety standards.
- Plan and schedule production activities to meet delivery timelines and quality standards
- Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure components adhere to quality standards and comply with industry regulations
- Implement and maintain robust quality control
- Investigate and resolve quality issues or non-conformities
- Implement best practices and innovative technologies to enhance productivity and quality
- Enforce strict safety protocols within the cleanroom, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety guidelines
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate risk.
- Lead and motivate team
- Provide guidance, training and performance feedback to team members
- Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance team performance and morale.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing, cleanroom production, or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards, regulations, and quality control
- Ability to work in a highly regulated and controlled environment
- Excellent leadership, communications, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a highly regulated and controlled environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
