We're looking for a visionary builder and a meticulous problem-solver who can apply a software engineering mindset to solve operational challenges at scale. This is for an engineer who isn't satisfied with simply putting out fires but is driven to prevent them entirely. This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. If you thrive on troubleshooting complex issues across multiple applications, automating tasks with robust frameworks, and are eager to master domain knowledge to make a significant impact on global financial markets, this role is for you.

This role requires a minimum of two days per week in our office.

What You'Ll Get

  • A supportive environment fostering career progression, continuous learning, and an inclusive culture.

  • Define and enhance end-to-end messaging tests across both on-premise and GCP environments, ensuring the integrity of our critical messaging protocols.
  • Engineer robust, automated testing frameworks and champion a culture of reliability by improving the testability of our core applications, APIs, and databases.
  • Lead the identification of new testing opportunities and expand the application health dashboard into previously unmonitored areas.
  • Collaborate with diverse engineering and support teams to gather requirements, provide feedback, and promote a universal culture of reliability.
  • Guide and mentor junior SREs across global teams, sharing your expertise and helping to build a stronger, more resilient organization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, acting as the final line of defense for system integrity and performance.
  • Design and implement automated testing and contribute to improving testable software (e.g., messaging, APIs, databases).
  • Interface and communicate with internal teams and external support groups, reporting status and risks.
  • Support production test related specific issues.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of prior development and testing experience in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.

What You'Ll Bring

  • Technical Acumen: Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux and databases (SQL/noSQL). A solid background in software development, preferably with Python or Java, is essential.
  • Automation Mindset: Proven experience with both test automation and manual testing, with an unwavering passion for automating repetitive tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to proactively identify and resolve complex environment issues.
  • Adaptability: The ability to quickly learn intricate trading and clearing systems while effectively managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills for seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and proven relevant work experience.
