AWS Cloud Ops Engineer (NV1 Clearance)

We’re looking for an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer with a passion for automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), advanced networking, and sovereign cloud solutions. In this role, you'll design, deploy, and manage cutting-edge, secure network environments while working alongside top-tier experts. Your work will directly impact our clients' success and future-proof their platforms.

What You’Ll Do

• Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver cloud-native network solutions.
• Network Design and Implementation: Manage and improve high-performance, resilient, and scalable network solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, CloudFront, Elastic Load Balancing (NLB/ALB), Global Accelerator, and Network Firewall.
• Sovereign Cloud and Environment Management: Manage and operate secure AWS Sovereign Cloud environments that meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Oversee the full lifecycle of client environments, including provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement to ensure security, availability, and compliance.
• Network Security: Manage comprehensive security measures, including web application firewalls (WAF), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), network segmentation, and security groups, to protect client infrastructure and applications.
• Performance Optimisation: Continuously monitor network performance and health, proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, and optimise network configurations for optimal efficiency and responsiveness. Use advanced monitoring tools and analytics to predict and prevent issues.
• Modernisation and Automation: Modernise legacy networks, optimise performance, and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• On-Call Support: Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide timely incident response, troubleshoot critical production issues, and ensure high availability of client environments.

What We’Re Looking For

• Must hold NV1 clearance or above
• AWS Cloud Ops Experience: Hands-on experience with AWS networking, sovereign cloud, and modern cloud architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK Stack).
• Certifications: AWS Certified Advanced Networking is a plus!
