Looking for an exciting opportunity to make an impact as a Chief Engineer? Leidos is looking for a Chief Engineer/Cloud Lead for a remote position supporting the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Task Order 4 (TO-4) program. This role will report directly to the TO-4 Program Manager (PM) as part of the leadership team and will provide leadership on a critical infrastructure support services program with a focus on modernization and innovation. The Chief Engineer is responsible for all technical performance and will serve as the Leidos single point-of-contact with the program office for technical matters and issues. He/she will provide the planning, direction, coordination, and control necessary to accomplish all work requirements and oversee all technical activities performed by contractor personnel, including subcontractors, to satisfy the contract requirements. The Chief Engineer will lead technical strategy, solution development, and execution of systems and infrastructure information technology (IT) and support services. The Chief Engineer will provide comprehensive systems engineering oversight, analytical, and technical support services required to deliver a broad range of innovative IT solutions and professional services to modernize FTC systems, protect their networks and assets, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of mission-critical and mission-support functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Serve as the Leidos principal IT engineer to provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of IT solutions that enhance overall system performance and availability.
• Lead the research, analysis, solution design and implementation planning of IT solutions for the modernization of existing applications and strategies for migrating them to the cloud.
• Drive strategic technological innovation, demonstrating a breadth and depth of knowledge in all things related to a hybrid environment.
• Provide technical knowledge and analysis of high-level functional systems analysis, design, and integration advice on complex matters that require expert level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
• Function as the Cloud Lead in support of FTC IRM Cloud Smart initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact with the FTC for all Azure cloud transitions, operations, and design recommendations as well as advice on best practices for budgeting for Azure costs.
• Schedule and facilitate internal meetings prior to the Engineering Review Board and the Change Board. The Chief Engineer will serve as a member of both FTC boards.
• Function as primary author for several deliverables including the Annual Infrastructure Report and the Quarterly Continuous Improvement Report.
• Manages EOL/EOS support process.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
• Demonstrated extensive chief engineer or solution architect experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading design and implementation of complex solutions on a large Program.
• Demonstrated strong customer relationships.
• Excellent skills with verbal communications, team building skills, and both written and client presentations
• Demonstrated Chief Engineer, CTO, and/or solution architect experience.
• The individual selected for this position should have a broad technical background spanning many of the technical areas supported by the program. The ability to clearly articulate technical messages for a variety of audiences, both through written and verbal means, will be a critical skill necessary for success in this position.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design.
• Demonstrated experience modernizing complex enterprise networks and legacy IT systems.
Clearance Requirements:
- • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
- • United States Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in Program, Project, or BP Management from a recognized credentialing agency.
• Capture/proposal management experience.
• 5+ years of (preferably Azure) Cloud experience to include hands on transition of on-site services to the Azure cloud, operation of services in the Azure cloud, and Azure cost management and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hybrid infrastructure problems, regardless of cloud involvement.
• Possess Cloud certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, and Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
