What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
- Lead the Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) and System Performance Team to deliver:
- work packages in support of customer functional requirements, in-service investigations, safety processes, risk assessments, and product improvements.
- analyses of complex data including simulation, modelling, test, and service data.
- propulsion systems performance functional information to customers, both internal and external to Rolls-Royce.
- assist with definition and lead evaluation of design changes to engine hardware and control system configurations and identify associated engine cycle impacts, optimization schemes and validation plans (at the engine/aircraft level).
- resolution of customer in-service engine performance and operational issues.
- performance evaluation and monitoring of in-service engines.
- data based solutions for shop visit workscope definition.
- evaluation and execution of life cycle cost reduction activities aligned to the business and customer needs.
- support to operations including production trending and analysis, pass-off test problem resolution, and support of manufacturability improvement initiatives.
- leveraging of current and near-term IT capabilities (hardware and software) to multiply team capabilities.
- Team with program Chief Design Engineer, Functional to define and achieve optimized system solutions that meet system requirements including short term and long-term strategies and drive transformation
- Team with the program Controls Technical Lead to be the AE Defense engineering team focal points for compliance with current and emerging RR and customer
- Deploy advanced data analysis techniques to detect and predict imminent issues on in-service engines and enhance our understanding of engine operational performance
- Manage workload, prioritization, resource allocation, and budget for the EHM and System Performance Team
- Hire, develop and grow a group of capable system performance and EHM engineers and ensure effective performance management of assigned engineers by setting/agreeing appropriate and relevant objectives, performing evaluations and appraisals (e.g. PDRs)
- Work with the core function Capability Managers to identify training, skills gaps or competency needs with the team and provide professional development opportunities
- Identify and execute improvements to process, tools, and methods for the engineering team to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Who We’Re Looking For:

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience, OR
- PhD Engineering
- In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience in Gas Turbine Systems Engineering
- Prior exposure to Service Engineering including Engine Health Management
- Gas Turbine Engine Performance Analysis
