Position Purpose:
Installs, monitors and maintains the integrity, security, availability, reliability and performance of security technologies, auxiliary and standalone security architecture as related to Information Technology software/hardware/cloud, and assists with providing first-level of technical support and timely assistance to clients of computerized systems.
Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.

This position has no direct reports.
Necessary Contacts:
- Reviews, presents, and recommends priorities, hardware, systems, design changes and technical alternatives to users and management.
- Must have ability to identify and effectively present the advantages of system alternatives.
- Works with counterparts in development areas to recommend and negotiate approaches, problem resolution and/or changes.
- Attends technical conferences.
- Provides counseling to client personnel on request.
- Participates in vendor negotiations and meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of degree. Two years of military experience and training specific to Information Technology can be used in lieu of a degree. CISSP certification will also substitute for the bachelor’s degree.
- Requires knowledge of advanced security technology, systems design and overall understanding of hardware technology, the development process and systems design in such areas as multi-processing and multi-programming, terminal oriented and communication-based systems, languages, etc.
- Must have demonstrated ability to analyze and solve logical problems such as may be found in mathematics, statistics, etc.
Experience:
- Minimum of seven years related work experience, extensive professional systems and troubleshooting background in three or more of the following areas of specialty as specified:
- Vulnerability Scanning and Management solutions
- Firewalls
- Web Proxies
- Network Sandboxing
- Intrusion Detection & Prevention solutions
- Network Forensics
- Packet Capture solution
- Email Protection technologies
- Tarpit / Honeypots
- Cloud Security

- Data Right management

- Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions

- Threat Intelligence technologies
- User & Entity Behavioral Analytics (UEBA) solutions
- Security Orchestration, Automation & Response (SOAR) solutions
- Ability to create custom scripting and automation
- Experience with APIs
- Has demonstrated communication and negotiation skills in order to interact with site peers, local management and executives on technical issues on project design and planning.
- Has demonstrated creativity in assignments and leadership in technical field of specialization.
- Requires deep technical knowledge at a structural and strategic level across a broad range of IT disciplines including current applications development methodology/languages, project management and service capabilities with experience in some or all of the additional disciplines of database administration, networking, operational capabilities, server platforms, messaging, middleware, security and communications.
- Has made extensive use of improved programming/analysis technology.
Decision Making:
- Develops functional specifications, identifies external program interactions, recommends hardware/software design changes and cost/function trade-offs.
- Presents status and technical alternatives to management.
Analytical & Creative:
- Analyzes and develops detailed approaches to determine the most efficient systems and programming approach on complex applications and systems that require extensive problem definition.
- High degree of analytical ability to analyze project objectives and develop requirements.
- Keeps current with improvements in programming/analysis techniques and applies as appropriate.
- Must achieve optimum performance within time and cost objectives.
- Contributes to the development of new technology concepts and improvement of existing techniques.
Accountabilities And Essential Functions:
Technical Design:
Under general direction, plans, researches, designs, analyzes, estimates, determines options, recommends, installs, tests, schedules, implements, administers, documents, monitors, tunes performance and maintains primary and auxiliary technical design as related to assigned areas of specialty to ensure the integrity, security, availability, reliability and performance of corporate computerized systems to meet client needs and expectations.
Tactical Planning:
Evaluates and recommends new system products in order to ensure that the IT Department acquires the most efficient, cost effective, and appropriate technology.
Teamwork And Leadership:
Provides leadership, technical/soft-skill mentoring and knowledge transfer for a small group of professionals to meet client needs and expectations.
Business Acumen: Has some ability to understand business requirements, pain points, and goals. Must be intentional about building strong business relationships and maturing overall business acumen. Must be able to learn what is important to the business and use that knowledge solutioning for business needs. Must support the initiatives set by the Principle role on the team as well as the manager.
Goals And Objectives:
Understands Company, Departmental, and Information Technology Goals and Objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals.
Job Duties are performed in a normal and clean office environment with normal noise levels.
Work is predominately done while sitting or standing.
The ability to comprehend, document, and analyze is required.
