Job Description:
As a Washington National Tax Senior Manager focused on Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients on the tax implications of complex partnership structures and transactions. You will lead a team within Washington National Tax focused on all aspects of partnership taxation pertaining to computational modeling across private partnerships, private equity funds, hedge funds, and publicly traded partnerships. In this leadership role, you’ll combine tax technical expertise with strong business acumen to deliver value, drive innovation, and support firm-wide growth through business development and marketing efforts. You will also lead internal process improvement initiatives and act as a mentor and performance coach to your team.
Job Responsibilities:
Tax Specialization & Consulting
- Develop and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of partnership taxation, including Sections 704(b), 704(c), 707, 734(b), 743(b), 751, and 752
- Advise on and model the tax implications of partnership structures and M&A transactions
- Interpret, process and prepare a variety of partnership computations utilizing digitization and data visualization tools with large amounts of data points and other information to assist clients and internal business units
- Apply both tax technical and industry-specific knowledge to deliver practical and innovative tax solutions
Research & Thought Leadership
- Identify complex tax issues and lead tax research projects with clarity and rigor
- Guide team members in framing tax questions and executing research methodologies
- Lead or contribute to external CPE sessions and internal technical training on partnership tax matters
Strategy & Innovation
- Contribute to the development and implementation of forward-thinking tax strategies that reduce clients’ tax burdens while managing compliance risk
- Collaborate across disciplines to design and implement systems, process improvements, and digitization initiatives
- Utilize data analytics and automation tools to enhance engagement efficiency and generate insights for clients
- Continuously improve team workflows through experimentation with new tools and approaches
Business Development
- Actively participate in client meetings and strategic planning discussions
- Contribute to proposal development, client relationship management, and expanding firm service offerings
- Lead marketing campaigns and thought leadership initiatives to strengthen the firm’s market position
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to implement standardized engagement tools and build/coach teams who are actively growing in partnership expertise
- Direct and manage associates and managers across multiple engagements
- Provide comprehensive review of work products and offer clear, constructive feedback
- Serve as a career advisor, mentor, and trainer to team members
- Ensure effective delegation, workload balance, and deadline management
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Taxation or Accountancy, preferred
- CPA, JD, or EA designation required
- Minimum of 8 years of tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or consulting/professional services, with a focus on partnership taxation
- Specialized experience with private equity, hedge funds, and/or publicly traded partnerships, highly preferred
- Familiarity with data visualization, process automation (Alteryx, or other technology driven applications) and modeling tools for large, complex datasets, preferred
- Prior supervisory experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax research tools
- Experience with tax compliance and allocation software
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including extensive report writing
- Strong leadership capabilities with an executive presence and ability to manage client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Proven analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to mentoring and developing team members

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
