Overview
Analog Devices is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Mixed-Signal System Architect to lead innovation in next-generation integrated circuits that will transform markets and address some of the world’s most critical challenges. As a seasoned expert with 20+ years in the industry, you will collaborate across disciplines—from device technologists to product strategists—to shape technology direction and drive product leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership
- Define and lead the system-level architecture of cutting-edge mixed-signal ICs, including key elements such as control, telemetry, power management, and embedded memory.
- Derive block-level performance metrics from system requirements to guide IC design teams.
- Lead architecture reviews, assess trade-offs, and refine designs based on cross-functional feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with system applications engineers, product definers, marketing, and planning teams to refine product goals, use cases, and roadmaps.
- Work with product teams to define system-level requirements that align with customer needs and technical feasibility.
- Engage with device technologists to define and shape platform technologies that support new product innovations.
Technical Execution & Design Support
- Evaluate analog and mixed-signal circuit performance through simulation, verification, and silicon validation.
- Oversee the physical implementation of design blocks and ensure layout meets performance and reliability targets.
- Support hardware validation and lab debug of silicon prototypes and hardware emulation systems.
Strategic Contributions
- Contribute to long-term technology and product roadmaps across multiple market segments including automotive, data center, industrial, and consumer.
- Evaluate system-level solutions to ensure alignment with application demands and technology capabilities.
- Influence the company’s design strategy and drive architectural best practices across design teams.
Customer & Industry Engagement
- Participate in internal and external technical forums to influence topology advancement and stay aligned with industry developments.
- Represent the company in key customer discussions, helping articulate technical value and identify unmet needs.
Process & Innovation Leadership
- Identify and lead improvements in product development workflows, including design methodologies, verification strategies, and cross-team collaboration models.
- Promote adoption of new technologies and processes to scale innovation and improve execution efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
- MSEE or equivalent with 20+ years of industry experience in mixed-signal system design and architecture.
- Proven experience in architecting and defining complex mixed-signal systems, with deep understanding of system-level trade-offs.
- Strong knowledge of CMOS and BCD process technologies, including device physics, layout effects, and reliability.
- Proficiency with design tools, especially the Cadence IC design suite.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge technical depth with product and market strategy.
- Experience with system-level requirement definition, traceability, and disaggregation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a history of delivering impactful presentations to customers and executive teams.
- Hands-on experience in lab evaluation, measurement techniques, and hardware/software system integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience architecting battery management systems and deep understanding of charging, powertrain, and energy storage systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ASIL-D, IEC 61508 or ISO 26262, especially in automotive applications.
- Proven success with ADC/DAC architectures such as delta-sigma, SAR and multi-string resistive
- Experience with I2C, SPI and digital interface protocols
- Success working with external vendors on development of memory macros
