Core Responsibilities
- Integrated Research Strategy: Collaborate with product teams to align development goals with a unified research strategy. Create research roadmaps that tie key product development milestones to testing timelines, ensuring coherence and data-driven decisions throughout the product development process.
- Metric Development: Establish and track key performance indicators to evaluate product implementation and student learning outcomes across products, driving continuous improvement.
- Research Rooted in Learning Sciences: Lead research projects simultaneously, applying evidence-based theories and mixed-method approaches informed by child development, learning sciences, design thinking, and evaluation.
- Agile, Rapid-Cycle Testing Management: Oversee rapid testing and analysis to deliver actionable insights that inform agile product decisions within short iteration cycles, ensuring methodological rigor despite tight timelines.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Present results and actionable insights through clear dashboards, visualizations, debriefing sessions, and concise reports tailored for diverse partners, making insights easily understood and actionable.
- Research Standards & Ethics: Maintain ethical practices, promote equitable research design, and ensure compliance with regulatory policies, including child safety and data privacy.
- Evidence & Trend Scans: Conduct rapid evidence reviews and field scans to identify relevant research, emerging evidence-based practices, and regional trends in STEM education.

The Efficacy and Insights Team lead the research strategy for project teams from conception to launch. We design innovative research strategies, processes, and tools that empower data-driven decision-making across product development, working closely with designers, engineers, curriculum developers, and product leads to ensure our solutions meet rigorous standards and deliver measurable impacts on learner outcomes and teaching practices.

Do You Have What It Takes?
You’ll excel in a purpose-driven environment, fostering collaboration among diverse partners to drive measurable learning impact. Your expertise should include:
- An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Educational Psychology, Curriculum Development, Program Evaluation, Child Development, or a related field in learning sciences.
- Strong STEM K-8 research experience, applying learning theories, mixed-method approaches, and quantitative analysis tools (Microsoft R and Excel) for data synthesis and analysis.
- Proven project management skills, managing multiple research projects simultaneously and delivering high-quality insights reports within fast timelines, balancing research rigor with agility to support iterative product development.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly, ensuring partners receive actionable insights for data-driven decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency with data collection, analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, QuestionPro, Power BI).
- Conducting research in agile, fast-paced product development environments while collaborating cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and product leads.
- Measurement development and validation.
- Building dashboards and automating workflows for efficient data collection, analysis, and insight generation.
- Preferred qualifications include expertise in K-8 science education research and science standards (e.g., NGSS).
Occasional travel to testing sites, both locally and internationally, is expected, along with the ability to lift up to 10 kg when transporting testing materials.
