This role combines expertise in Digital and Data Science with Process Analytical Technology (PAT) to drive digital transformation, enhance product understanding, and support robust control strategies throughout the product lifecycle. The specialist will identify and implement innovative digital solutions, apply PAT methodologies, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards to modernize operations and improve efficiency.

In this role you will…

Digital And Data Science Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data aspects of Product Lifecycle
  • Management (PLM), including data science tools, automated analytics solutions, and data standardization.
  • Collaborate with Informatics/Digital Data Analytics (DDA) experts and business leaders to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and deploy systems and analytics tools to facilitate data use and interpretation.
  • Lead data improvement projects, including validation, RCA, and optimization of scientific and process performance data.
  • Ensure product and process data are structured for accessibility and use, incorporating global best practices into local operations.
  • Support audits and inspections related to data processes and tools.

Process Analytical Technology (Pat) Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and install PAT systems, author documentation, and ensure compliance with stakeholder standards.
  • Apply PAT methodologies to support product understanding and develop robust control strategies.
  • Introduce Real Time Release Testing as part of the Product Control Strategy for NPIs.
  • Manage the lifecycle of PAT equipment, methods, models, and data infrastructure.
  • Provide training and troubleshooting support for PAT applications.
  • Lead or support technical investigations, corrective actions, and deviations related to PAT.

General Responsibilities:

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement through the adoption of digital tools and
  • PAT methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to influence decision-making and promote collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality, regulatory, and EHS requirements.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • MSc/MEng or postgraduate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical, Biological or Computer Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Significant experience in a regulated industry (Pharmaceutical/FMCG).
  • Practical application of PAT methodologies and digital tools (e.g., SAS, Python, R coding, Microsoft Power Platform, statistical analysis).
  • Experience in process validation, scale-up, technical transfer, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. including an ability to lead the simplification of complex data processes and improvement activities.
  • Diverse technical knowledge - with a Working knowledge of pharmaceutical product and process data associated materials, components, manufacturing operations, critical parameters, and controls.
  • Working knowledge of product development, technical transfer, scale- up and process validation.
  • Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management, data trending and associated tools.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills with proven experience of communicating at different levels across an organisation including communicating complex information in logical and simplified terms.
  • Extensive experience in authoring, reviewing or approval of technical reports.
  • Ability to lead and manage digital projects effectively: strong project management skills and experience with major data or technical projects leading/ implementing process improvement activities.
  • Extensive experience of working in cross-functional teams.
