The Opportunity
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to join the LMI team on a Fixed-Term contract, to cover parental leave. As an LMI Data Analyst, you will provide strategic insights to the business through data and analytics. You will leverage your analytical capabilities to identify risk trends and potential areas for growth across the portfolio.
Your New Role
A day in the role may look a little bit like this:
- Provide data analysis for various stakeholders.
- Analyse portfolio performance to balance underwriting risk with efficiency.
- Identify and implement improvements in underwriting tools.
- Develop and maintain portfolio, pricing, and decision tools.
- Assist in project documentation and IT initiatives.
- Support pricing model risk and governance.
- Analyse portfolio trends and provide insights into the business.
- Undertake data analysis and deliver insights.
- Learn and apply new tools and technology for business insights.
- Ensure successful cross-team collaboration and knowledge transfer
- Monitor industry and regulatory developments
- Assist in development of reports that provide strategic insights using data and analytics
- Understand and articulate how changes in the economy and regulatory landscape can impact the portfolio
About You
To be successful as an LMI Data Analyst you will ideally have a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics/Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics or Data Science with an interest in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance. You will also preferably have;
- Ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate data and resolve complex issues
Intermediate Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to programming (SAS, Python and/or SQL)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and process understanding
- Data dashboard building experience (Power BI/ Tableau)
