The Role

As Production Manager within the Broadcast Studios and Film team at LSEG, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of resources for studio bookings and film shoots. Reporting directly to the Head of Broadcast Studios and Film, you work collaboratively with the production co-ordinator and other team members to deliver high-quality studio based and film content while maintaining a seamless production process. Your organisational prowess and ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects is crucial in supporting the team's objectives and ensuring successful productions. Experience of working in studios-based livetelevision news is a prerequisite with, with additional experience in film or corporate video production being a strong plus. Please note that this is not currently a line management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • StudioTeam Resource Management: Oversee the scheduling and allocation of spaces to productions, corporate shoots, and other events. Coordinate with relevant internal partners to optimise studios and productions in our event spaces and ensure maximum efficiency of resources.
  • Film Shoot Coordination: Have an overview of the work being conducted by our senior producer and freelance producers to plan and execute film shoots. This includes arranging logistics, coordinating talent and crew schedules, securing necessary permits, and managing on-set operations.
  • Budget and Resource Planning: Develop and manage production budgets for each project and/or be across production budgets being created by our production -co-ordinator. Ensure adherence to financial constraints while delivering quality outcomes. Responsible for tracking and reporting to internal stakeholders. Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and timelines. Also work directly with our Finance department to ensure that our operating budget is updated and working effectively. Have an overview of all purchase orders required to keep the team’s responsibilities running smoothly.
  • Team: Support and mentor junior team members, including but not limited to our production co-ordinator, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's performance and growth.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers, where relevant.
  • Risk Management and Risk Assessments: Working with our Senior Producer, and team Head, identify potential production risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them for studios and location-based productions. Uphold safety protocols and industry standards throughout the production process.
  • Production Oversight: Monitor the progress of ongoing film projects, ensuring that they remain on schedule and within budget. Proactively identify and address any challenges that may arise during production.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine production workflows to optimize efficiency and enhance overall production capabilities.
  • Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including copyright laws, permits, and licenses.

Qualifications And Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Film, Media Production, or a related field. Additional certifications in project management or production management are a plus.
  • Proven experience in studio management and film production, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of creative professionals.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with film production equipment, technical requirements, and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in llive broadcast studios and film production.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • An excellent contact’s book.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • A passion for the film and media industry, staying updated with the latest technologies and advancements.
