Material and/or printing defects can be detected by automatic camera inspection systems and are easily eliminated by the operators.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading and developing people, processes and systems that ensure the highest safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.  Ensures that all products and services meet or exceed government, industry and company specifications.  Ensures that the company’s strategy for quality products and customer satisfaction be responsive, effective, and reach all areas of the organization with special emphasis on the constant concern for product liability.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct Reports: 5-7 employees
  • Supervise and direct all quality assurance techs who are responsible for enforcing GMP’s and other quality related policies in order to meet customer’s needs and expectations.
  • Effectively leading team to meet business goals
  • Creating and managing team schedules
  • Managing workflow of the department and delegating tasks
  • Training of team members to ensure job duties are performed efficiently and effectively
  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback on an ongoing basis
  • Resolving employee issues and disputes
  • Investigate and determine root cause analysis of various issues
  • Prepare and enforce corrective actions
  • Maintain plant standards to ensure BRCGS and cGMP requirements are met
  • Enforcing compliance with company policies
  • Establishes or adjusts department schedules, hours etc. to assure that customer production schedules are met

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establish working relationships with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing to maintain quality throughout the ordering and manufacturing cycle and to minimize the potential for non-conforming parts.
  • Assuring that appropriate training is scheduled and performed.
  • Plans and monitors the flow of work through Quality Assurance and the Lab.
  • Develops, reviews and approves procedures, forms, and instructions.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
  • Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarks
  • Performs orientation and onboarding related to quality for new staff members
  • Upholds standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations
  • Assist with investigating and correcting quality related issues through corrective actions in collaboration with other departments.
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems, non-conformities and complaints.
  • Follow up with implemented programs and procedures to ensure all personnel are following correct procedures to resolve problems.
  • Forecast staffing requirements based on scheduled jobs and manage staff levels and hours to meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement necessary changes to positively impact production.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Prior experience as a quality manager in a production processing environment

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Preferred 5-10 years industry experience and quality standards
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervising employees

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/ hearing or through written communication.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk and sit.
  • Excellent visual discrimination for defect identification.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
