Position Summary
We are looking for a self-driven and highly skilled IT Manager to oversee all aspects of information technology across our healthcare facility. As the sole IT professional on staff, this position is both hands-on and strategic, responsible for managing infrastructure, supporting clinical and administrative users, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and driving technology initiatives that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced IT generalist with strong healthcare knowledge who is comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for staff.
- Administer and maintain clinical systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), practice management software, telehealth platforms, and other healthcare applications.
- Monitor and maintain local servers, networks, backups, and security protocols to ensure high system availability and data integrity.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements related to IT systems, internet, telecom, and technology services.
- Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant healthcare regulations by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures.
- Lead IT projects such as software upgrades, device rollouts, or system migrations.
- Provide technical onboarding for new hires and training on technology tools and security best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, configurations, procedures, and compliance audits.
- Plan and manage the IT budget, purchasing, and inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Collaborate with leadership to assess technology needs and support operational goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on IT experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical environment.
- Proficient with healthcare technologies, including EHR/EMR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Epic, Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of networking, Microsoft 365, Windows servers, backup systems, and cybersecurity practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance, PHI protection, and healthcare data security standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in small to mid-size healthcare practices, outpatient clinics, or FQHCs.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or HIPAA Security Certification.
- Familiarity with medical device integration, telehealth systems, and cloud-based healthcare platforms.
