Description
The Property Damage Claims Supervisor will oversee the operation of a unit of claim representatives with varying levels of experience who handle first and third party property claims. The ideal candidate will be familiar with comparative negligence and current state and federal regulatory laws.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coach the work of Property Damage Claims Adjusters.
- Plan unit workflow and monitor assignment of claims to unit members based on complexity, severity, and volume.
- Establish and monitor unit goals for service, production, and work quality.
- Review active and closed files in compliance with Quality Assurance program to identify trends, provide direction, and provide feedback to unit.
- Provide management with monthly analysis of quality trends and performance of claims associates.
- Conduct training on a group and individual basis on all aspects of the job.
- Promote teamwork through effective leadership.
- Review and approve settlements that exceed staff authority levels.
- Conduct performance reviews and career counseling sessions.
- Monitor attendance and write performance appraisals.
- Make recommendations for promotions, staff changes, and salary action.
- Participate in new-hire interview process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university strongly recommended.
- Minimum 4 years of insurance and/or claims experience.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Able to exercise independent judgement.
- Have a working knowledge of claim applications, including Image Right, Claims Pro, and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Salary Range
The pay range for this position is $73,000 to $98,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
