Purpose of the Position
The Production Supervisor oversees production operations, guaranteeing that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. The supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be competent and comprehend complex operations.
Should be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs ensuring production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
This position will require mechanical aptitude, situational awareness and previous Production Lead experience.
The Production Supervisor will serve directly as the "go-to" person for all things Production related with direct guidance under the Production Manager.
The Production Supervisor is expected to have a solid understanding & ability to carry functions of each area in the Production Department.
Actively enforce all safety policies and procedures with direct and non-direct reports and contractors. Take appropriate action to eliminate all unsafe acts or conditions.
Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to direct and non-direct reports and contractors.
Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
Support daily plant operations through the effective management of resources adhering to all policies, procedures and instructions.
Communicates significant events and critical issues as appropriate to the Production Manager.
Prepares and communicates daily and weekly production plans. Ensures all planned work is completed on schedule in the most efficient manner.
Assists in developing, overseeing, and enforcing operating procedures and quality standards of Production.

Willing and able to cross-train and float into other positions of the Production Department as needed.
Monitor assigned work group’s daily performance, communicate information with the group via daily verbal / written communication - initiating / performing corrective action as required.
Actively contribute as a member of the Safety Committee monthly and practice / communicate “safety first” with all direct and indirect reports.
Estimate, drive and standardize work hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the Company.
Recommend corrective measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggest changes in working conditions and processes to increase efficiency of shop, department, or crews.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
Perform other duties as required.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Competencies Required
Able to analyze and define a problem, using sound reasoning to arrive at a solution
Demonstrates proficient oral and written communication skills, including ability to listen, process information, then re-communicate instruction and direction in one-on-one and group settings, including (discussions, presentations, reports, and negotiations, as applicable). Employs appropriate follow up methods to ensure communication results in achieved goals and objectives.
Utilize interpersonal skills such as good oral and written communication skills, tact and diplomacy, and conflict management skills to establish positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, and directors.
Able to understand the facets, duties and responsibilities of the job; keeps job knowledge current.
Provide strong leadership, demonstrating skills in decision making, motivating others, and encouraging others; demonstrate skill in solving problems and resolving conflict.
Have a proficient knowledge of mechanical processes and be able to perform relevant calculations and analysis to assist in operations, sizing, and troubleshooting of processes and process equipment.
Adheres to OSHA standards and complies with NTA's internal EH&S program requirements. Observes and enforces safe work practices in all activities; and stores equipment/materials/tools safely in designated areas, as applicable. Wears at all times the assigned personal protective equipment (PPE). Practices good personal hygiene, promotes a sanitary work environment and adheres to good housekeeping standards.
Able to supervise others and monitor their work so that tasks are completed appropriately.
Ability to develop strong, trusting business relationships with internal / external customers toward achieving Department / Company goals. Proactively support an atmosphere of teamwork by working collaboratively to meet team goals/objectives while respectfully appreciating other team members’ viewpoints.
Maintains current understanding of technical processes/equipment, uses technology to increase performance/productivity.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience Required
Requires a high school diploma or GED or the equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience or any equivalent combination of related training and experience
