Lead Contract Manager

Permanent

Grade 6 – £50,788 to £62,801

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Contract Manager to join our Digital & Technology Services team. This is a pivotal role for someone with a strong background in contract lifecycle management, supplier engagement, and commercial risk mitigation.

About the Role
As Lead Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of contracts across our digital, data, and technology services. You will ensure that all contractual arrangements are robust, compliant, and aligned with our strategic goals. This includes developing contract strategies, managing supplier performance, and acting as the escalation point for complex contractual issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of contract and supplier relationship management frameworks and best practices.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle—from drafting and negotiation to execution, monitoring, and renewal.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual and supplier management matters to project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contracts are compliant with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and service levels, driving accountability and addressing underperformance.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, cost savings, and improved service delivery through supplier collaboration.
  • Prepare and present contract and supplier performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with procurement colleagues to align contract terms with sourcing and supplier strategies.
