Position Overview

The Assistant Director, Corporate Communications, will play an essential role in supporting the strategy and execution of corporate communications programmes across international markets

Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications, this position works closely with global and regional executive leadership to craft compelling corporate content, shape key messages, and deliver high-impact communications across external and internal channels.

The Assistant Director will focus on executive communications, media engagement, social and digital storytelling for corporate initiatives, colleague communications, and management of key owned channels. The role requires a confident communicator with strong writing and relationship-building skills, able to influence and collaborate at the leadership level.

 

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Communications Strategy & Execution

  • Support the Senior Director in driving the company’s corporate communications agenda across global markets, excluding greater China.
  • Partner with regional and global leaders to translate brand attributes and business priorities into impactful communications strategies and programmes.
  • Develop high-quality corporate content, including speeches, opinion pieces, executive messaging, and thought leadership materials.
  • Provide strategic advice on positioning, messaging, and tone for senior leaders.

Media Relations & Brand Storytelling

  • Build and maintain good relationships with top-tier international and regional media.
  • Proactively develop corporate and brand stories to reinforce the company’s global reputation.

Digital & Owned Channels Management

  • Oversee the corporate website, ensuring timely updates, accuracy, and relevance of content.
  • Manage the company’s LinkedIn account, curating content that strengthens corporate reputation and amplifies leadership visibility.
  • Develop engaging digital content (posts, campaigns, visuals) to promote corporate announcements, thought leadership and reputation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Social Media and Digital teams to maximize the reach and impact of owned channels.

Internal & Colleague Engagement

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to deliver inspiring colleague communications across global markets.
  • Translate global priorities into engaging internal messaging and campaigns that build pride, alignment, and engagement.
  • Support senior leaders with internal speaking engagements, announcements, and events.

Stakeholder & Partner Engagement

  • Support communications initiatives with corporate partners, such as charities, cultural institutions, and industry forums.
  • Develop communication strategies to highlight partnerships, CSR activities, and industry participation.

Crisis & Issues Communications

  • Provide communications support during crises or sensitive issues impacting international global markets, excluding Greater China.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and aligned messaging for both external and internal audiences.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in corporate communications, with exposure to international markets.
  • Proven expertise in internal communications, executive communications, media relations, and digital/social media management.
  • Experience managing corporate websites and LinkedIn or other professional social media platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for multiple audiences.
  • Strong network with international business and trade media is desirable.
  • Experience in crisis communications and stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
  • Comfortable working directly with executives and advising leadership on communication strategies.
  • A strategic thinker with strong execution skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, culturally astute, and adaptable across diverse regions.
  • Proactive, resilient, and able to perform in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
