Our largest distribution centre processes around 600,000 units per day to our retail stores and to our customer’s doors which is by no means straightforward.

About The Role

We are looking for a Performance & Absence Analyst to collate and report on data across all departments in Next Distribution

Reporting to the Performance & Absence Compliance Manager, you will design and implement solutions to monitor, track and report on key performance and absence measures. 

Responsibilities

  • Create triggers for absence, performance and error management across NDL, hold weekly conversations with relevant stakeholders for each site & HR ensuring compliance.
  • Picking up any ad hoc queries relating to performance, absence and error management ensuring solutions are found.
  • Maintain performance data for agency team players as well as deciding which team members should be offered positions within Next.
  • Compiling and maintaining training hours data, allowing stakeholders to review opportunities for improvement
  • Reviewing and reporting on team member shift conformance
  • Compiling the weekly Optimisation pack, consisting of performance and absence by site, opportunities for improvement in usage of hours across sites/holiday usage/long term sickness/timecard compliance/PWW compliance
  • Automating tasks through formulas, queries or scripts wherever possible to reduce repetitive manual tasks
  • Providing senior stakeholders from all departments with data and analytical insights that help make key decisions across the business.
  • Evaluate team members in probation and provide insights so correct actions are taken.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, and build strong working relationships
  • Sound knowledge of all management policies for warehouse operatives
  • Strengthening the analysis and reporting of current people data to support decision making around people initiatives.
  • Analyse Oracle reports and recognise errors in reporting and opportunities for improvement
  • Create Talent Snapshot dashboard reports in conjunction with HR
  • Support managers & HR with ad hoc data required for investigations

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets equivalent
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload, working to tight timescales
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good personal time management skills and awareness of how to use time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to critically analyse data and provide recommendations to support the senior management team.
  • Technical skills and expertise working with datasets  across different sources and formats
  • Subject matter expert
  • Stays up to date with all the latest data science technologies
  • Experience with databases and data analysis
  • Previous business intelligence and data analysis experience.
  • Strong data visualisation skills - ability to simplify complex information and present trends and key performance indicators for decision makers.
  • A great work ethic, namely; a motivated team player with a positive attitude towards taking on new challenges.
  • Use of Business Intelligence packages and software e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL report writing tools
  • Calm under pressure and ability to work to short deadlines
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for innovation
  • Focused on continuous learning and growth within the role
