Job Overview:

  • Primary responsibilities are internal audit of waste system processes (both Focal Point and WIN), internal controls to facilitate data integrity, risk management with regulatory agencies and customers, regulatory compliance associated to shipment documents and reporting functions. Waste systems data integrity and new systems/process verifications. 
  • Completing regulatory reports with deadlines to state and/or federal agencies. 
  • Comprehension of the WIN system and plant operations to evaluate the quality of the data extracted for report completion.
  • Review data for certain reports on an on-going basis to address errors in the data that impact regulatory reports. This may be weekly, monthly quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and Bi-annual depending on issues and report deadlines. 
  • Manage contacts with sites, field Compliance and regulatory agencies as needed to facilitate the corrections. 
  • Work with field compliance 
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes as well as always acting in a safe manner. 
  • Responsiveness to Service Now tickets for Focal Point Waste processes facilitating shipments migrating to WIN. 
  • Provide training to field as needed for waste related initiatives. 
  • Data Integrity reviews in Focal Point and WIN. 
  • Review data for certain reports on an on-going basis to address errors in the data that will affect regulatory reports. This may be weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual depending on the report itself. Make corrections as needed. Coordinate training to locations with significant deficiencies. 
  • Work with the plant manager and Compliance staff on generating certain reports, demonstrate available processes and resources. 
  • Compile and submit regulatory reports within the EPA defined due dates. Ensure accuracy, validity and completeness of all documentation used when preparing and submitting these reports. 
  • Provide own signature as certification on select reports. Obtain signatures/certifications from other compliance staff on select reports. Maintain central archives for all submittals. 
  • Prepare responses to Regulatory Agency requests, as required. 
  • Coordinate changes to regulatory reports with MIS, providing overviews of desired result and detailed testing of applicable changes. 
  • Understand functionality for waste information for two separate systems (Focal Point and WIN) and provide support and suggested improvements. 
  • Review and implementation of process improvements. 
  • Need to work on other compliance projects, as requested. 
  • Managing processes / projects as assigned such as OFFC, DEA, Generator status, TRI, Tier II, NPRI, GMDR and the Municipality reporting projects etc... 
  • Reports Managed: 
  • Federal, State, Transport or municipality Waste Reports and fees

  • Knowledge of DOT, RCRA, DEA and US/STATE EPA regulations

Education/Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Science or related field (preferred) 
  • 0-2 years experience with WINWEB at a plant or in a customer service (preferred) 
  • 0-2 years experience with regulatory reporting (preferred) 
  • DOT and RCRA Certifications (preferred)
