Exciting opportunity to be a Research Fellow with Professor Cameron Turtle
Base Salary starting at $156,103 (pro rata) + 17% superannuation
About The Opportunity
Professor Cameron Turtle is the CLEARbridge Chair in Cancer Immunotherapy. Professor Turtle leads clinical and laboratory research teams developing and conducting clinical trials of genetically modified cellular (CAR-T cell) immunotherapies for patients with haematologic malignancies.
The School of Medical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health has an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join Professor Turtle’s immunotherapy lab in the Charles Perkins Centre at The University of Sydney.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- build and maintain a reputation for academic excellence through independent and innovative contributions to research, expanding knowledge and practice in the discipline
- disseminate research knowledge and facilitate knowledge transfer to drive impact
- maintain a research profile, including publication in academic or professional journals and engage in keynote addresses
- lead successful competitive research grants and/or generate other research income by exploring diverse funding opportunities
- establish partnerships, collaborations and engage in translational research for impactful outcomes in research, development, commercialisation, and policy improvement
- undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About You
- specialist physician haematologist with experience in clinical CAR-T immunotherapy
Phd In Immunology
- significant experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity
- expertise in novel CAR-T design and epigenetic analyses of human CAR-T cells and T cell subsets
- significant experience supervising and mentoring others
- has a network of established relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the faculty/University school and University
- demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
- ability to effectively communicate.
