• Lead Virgin Red’s internal engineering capabilities and technology vendors with a focus on building scalable, resilient, secure platforms 
• Drive the platform strategy, delivering reusable services, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines that give our product teams the edge 
•  Champion developer experience, introducing self-service approaches that help teams move fast and cut down toil 
• Set the standards for engineering excellence and lead high-performing product and platform engineering teams 
• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with colleagues in Architecture, Product, Security, and Data to bring ideas to life 
• Stay ahead of the curve by bringing in fresh thinking around AI-assisted engineering, observability, automation, and more 

What You’Ll Need

• A track record of leading software and platform engineering teams to deliver real impact 
• Hands-on experience building or scaling products and platforms that deliver innovative, data-driven customer experiences 
• Demonstrable experience in evolving engineering teams into high-performance functions aligned to strategic business outcomes 
• The ability to engage with senior stakeholders – from C-suite to engineers – and bring people together around shared goals 
• Deep knowledge of modern cloud-native technologies (think AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring stacks) and data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) 
• Solid understanding of architectural patterns that deliver highly-reliable and re-usable microservices and APIs 
• A collaborative, pragmatic approach – balancing big-picture strategy with delivery focus

Role type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Location: London hub & your home space
