  • Technical Delivery Lead
  • Location : Auckland

The Technical Delivery Lead plays a dual role in hands-on technical delivery and leading cross-functional initiatives. This role is critical in advancing the organisation’s digital agenda, particularly in the development and integration of APIs, web services, and reporting solutions.

As the technical lead within the Implementation team, you will ensure solutions are designed, built, and delivered effectively to meet business and client needs. You will provide guidance, manage risks and dependencies, and drive delivery excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

API & Technical Development

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs and web services to support client solutions.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with technical standards.
  • Provide expertise on integration patterns, data flows, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with analysts and report writers to enable accurate data access and reporting.
  • Act as technical lead for cross-functional project teams, from design through to implementation.
  • Partner with Business Analysts, Solutions Analysts, and SMEs to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support client-facing delivery through workshops, demonstrations, and solution walk-throughs.
  • Manage delivery timelines, risks, and dependencies for technical workstreams.
  • Client Engagement & Support

Delivery Leadership

  • Participate in client workshops, providing technical insight and shortening feedback loops.
  • Act as the point of contact for technical queries during delivery.
  • Build strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment and transparency.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion best practice in API design, integration, and delivery.
  • Contribute to development of reusable components and internal standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline delivery, and reduce technical debt.

Skills Required:

  • 7+ years in software development with a focus on APIs and integration.
  • Previous experience of leading technical delivery or acting as a technical lead.
  • Experience in financial services, fund administration, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Proven track record delivering client-facing technical solutions.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. API design, Agile) are an advantage
  • Strong technical expertise in API development (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
  • Experience with web technologies (JavaScript, .NET, Java, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects).
  • Understanding of integration architecture, data governance, and security standards.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to simplify technical concepts.
  • Experience leading technical delivery in Agile environments.
