​About The Opportunity And Project:

Are you a seasoned Project Accountant with a passion for large-scale civil construction? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and excel at providing critical financial insights to drive project success? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our project team delivering the Link Road Bridge for ANI. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a significant infrastructure development and play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of the project.

Based out of our Osborne site office, as a Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of project accounting activities, providing comprehensive financial support to the project team. You will leverage your expertise to manage project budgets, forecasts, cost control, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting- Develop and maintain accurate project budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Cost Control- Monitor project costs, ensuring adherence to budget and implementing effective cost control measures.
  • Financial reporting: including project profitability analysis and cash flow projections.
  • Review- project contracts, ensuring compliance with payment terms and conditions.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable- Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Stakeholder Management- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Compliance- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Team Collaboration- Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Progress Claims- manage and accurately produce progress claims.

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications And Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the civil construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and forecasting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  
  • Knowledge of construction contracts
  • Experience with progress claims and variations.
