Organizational Setting

UTF/BRA/089/BRA 
The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.

Technical Focus

Carry out a diagnostic and propositional study on the implementation of the National Food Supply Plan 2025-2028 with a view to structuring and improving the monitoring and evaluation processes of the main planning, management, and execution mechanism of the National Food Supply Policy, established by Decree No. 11,820, 12/12/2023.

Tasks And Responsibilities

•    Plan and monitor programs, projects and development of actions in food supply 
•    Promote access to adequate, healthy and sustainable food and the productive and economic inclusion of family farmers;
•    Foster and maintain integration with other agencies and entities of the Federal Executive Branch for the implementation of actions derived from the national food supply policy guidelines.
•    Foster and maintain partnerships with states, the Federal District, municipalities, and civil society organizations for the execution of food supply initiatives.
•    Contribute to combating food inflation and hunger by ensuring access to adequate and healthy food.
•    Plan, monitor, and evaluate food supply programs, projects, and actions.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:

Minimum Requirements

  • •    Applied Social Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Health Sciences or Agricultural Sciences, according to the CAPES table of areas of knowledge.
  • •    Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;
  • •    National of Brazil
