This position is a member of our RESTORE Program in the Chief Budget & Efficiency Office. 

Here’S What You’Ll Be Doing

  • Perform highly advanced (senior-level) grant development, coordination, and administration work.  Oversee the preparation, coordination, review, maintenance and reporting of Resources and Ecosystem Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies (RESTORE) grants at various stages and ensure compliance with requirements and standards for the State of Texas and the Federal relevant funding entities.
  • Supervise the Project Management Team under the state and federal grant requirements for the RESTORE Program. This includes overseeing the development of grant applications, contracts, work plans and amendments; overseeing and submitting documentation to federal granting agencies; approving project related invoices; evaluating project timelines; implementing adaptive management strategies to ensure timely project completion; reviewing and approving required reporting and assisting staff in maintaining communication with applicable agency program staff and subrecipients to ensure compliance with state and federal grant requirements.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of activities for programs and projects including cross-functional work groups of internal and external stakeholders to develop program objectives to continually secure funds with RESTORE funding.
  • Supervise the Project Management Team to ensure compliance, proper monitoring, and close-out of grants according to federal and state requirements. Review and track projects for additional future reporting requirements as outlined in the grant contract, 2 CFR 200 and the federal grant award. Work with staff on keeping organized records in appropriate directories for audit-readiness.
  • Provide guidance and oversight regarding grant administration, policies and procedures and assist staff with project related issues and concerns. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the agency, the State and grant funding sources by attending meetings and resolving issues and develop additional processes as necessary to better comply with state and federal requirements. 
 

Qualifications

 

Key Qualifications

  • Experience managing federal grant programs
  • Experience managing construction projects in coastal environment
  • Coastal and Marine Science Background
  • Experience with federal requirements included in 2 CFR 200

Required Education & Experience

Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.

Or

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
