Saints Foundation is the charity of Southampton Football Club. We support people in need throughout Southampton, providing life-changing opportunities to help our communities thrive.

What is the role?

As the Impact & Evaluation Manager at Saints Foundation, you will lead the evaluation of all charitable projects, using data to drive learning, improvement, and positive outcomes for people affected by inequality. You’ll deliver the charity’s Impact Strategy, ensuring teams and stakeholders can make evidence-based decisions. Central to your role is co-production—working closely with communities, partners, and participants to shape and improve our work. As the in-house evaluation expert, you’ll make findings clear and actionable, empowering the team to create meaningful, lasting change.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for maintaining and updating Saints Foundation’s needs analysis, while also championing and managing the Foundation’s Theory of Change. You’ll ensure that any developments to the Theory of Change are co-produced with those we support, and you will lead on developing logic models for each project that reflect the voices and needs of our communities.

You’ll take the lead on the Foundation’s monitoring systems, including Salesforce and Upshot. This will involve ensuring all project teams are trained in how to use these tools effectively and understand what data needs to be input. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the quality of that data, ensuring it meets the needs of both the organisation and external funders.

In terms of evaluation, you’ll be instrumental in the ongoing development of trauma-informed, co-produced, and mixed-methods tools for measuring outcomes across all projects. You’ll manage and refine the evaluation frameworks for each individual programme, aligning them with the overall Theory of Change. This includes leading annual surveys for fundraising, staff, and partners; training staff in evaluation techniques; and managing the charity’s annual insight calendar. You’ll also be responsible for managing partnerships with external evaluators, including universities and our social value partner, Substance.

You will promote a culture of evidence-based practice, drawing on evaluation data and wider sector insight to guide decision-making. You’ll run engaging insight sessions for each project team, helping them to interpret findings and shape their delivery accordingly. In addition to producing an annual impact summary and Social Return on Investment (SROI) data, you’ll lead on the production of the Foundation’s annual Impact Report. You’ll ensure that findings are communicated in a clear and accessible way—whether through presentations or written reports—to support learning and engagement across all stakeholders.

You’ll oversee the project reporting process, ensuring that all funders and partners receive accurate, high-quality reports on time. Internally, you’ll manage the reporting calendar and produce monthly KPI dashboards that give charity-wide insights. You’ll also contribute evaluation data to support grant applications and ongoing project reporting.

Finally, you’ll manage the annual participant voice calendar, ensuring that feedback from participants is gathered and used throughout the year. You’ll champion their involvement in key decisions across the Foundation, ensuring that participant voice is not only heard but acted upon, shaping the future of our work.

Is This You?

You are an advocate for evidence-based practice who thrives in a fast-paced community setting. You enjoy working across all elements of evaluation—from database management and analysis to presenting insights in meaningful ways. You are excited by the challenge of evaluating diverse community projects and are skilled at designing tools that are accessible and engaging for all participants.

You bring experience in evaluation and using learning tools and databases to evidence impact. You know how to use data to influence stakeholders, even those with limited evaluation knowledge. You are a strong communicator, able to translate complex findings into everyday language and present data in engaging, user-friendly formats.

Most importantly, you have a passion for our mission and a genuine connection to the experiences of our beneficiaries and community. You are creative in how you connect people—both internally and externally—to the impact of our work.
