Application specialist, Bakery (maternity cover - 1 year fix contract)

Job Summary

For the Bakery & Bars Application team in Brabrand, we are seeking an Application Specialist to assist us in servicing our external and internal customers. You will be part of the Bakery team based in Brabrand, Denmark - with an excellent category team and global knowledge sharing allowing us to challenge what’s possible and what will be the preferred Bakery solutions in the future.

Where You’Ll Make A Difference

• Provide technical support to industrial bakery customers and improver houses across EMEA.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to execute customer-related tasks.
• Design, conduct, and follow up on trials and projects both internally and at customer sites.
• Develop and document technical reports and application insights.
• Innovate new application solutions aligned with strategic goals and market trends.
• Deliver training to customers and colleagues on applications and processes.
• Contribute to R&D initiatives and support patent development.
• Build strong internal and external networks to enhance collaboration and customer relationships.
• Participate actively in knowledge-sharing initiatives across IFF.

What Makes You The Right Fit

• M.Sc. or equivalent in a relevant field, with solid experience in the Bakery/Food Industry.
• Proven track record and deep understanding of bakery processes and technologies.
• Strong foundation in nutrition, food chemistry, and ingredient functionality.
• Hands-on technical expertise paired with commercial awareness.
• Experience with food manufacturing processes, pilot plants, and analytical techniques.
• Curious, creative, and proactive mindset with a structured working style.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to thorough documentation.
• Passion for teaching and engaging with customers and colleagues.
• Comfortable in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally (30–40 days/year) across EMEA.
• Professional-level English and strong IT proficiency.
