Job Purpose:

• Support and oversee team of Instrument Engineers/Techs (45)
• Co-Manager Instrument team with a Client counterpart. 
• Responsible and accountable to assist all maintenance activities performed at field by ensuring maintenance activities are integrated in accordance with the Production Unit Asset Leadership team’s plans
• Responsible and accountable for organization communicating the expectations on job safety, health, environmental and security to Maintenance team
• Maintain communications with Operations Department Manager, Operations Superintendents other senior Production Operations personnel to maintain equipment reliability
• Assist Operations in the planning and execution of plant turnarounds and facility upgrades
• Plans, updates, and oversees all activities within his or her areas of responsibility according to the laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures. Special emphasis must be placed on health, safety, and the environment
• Develops and maintains open communications on control issues (for example, safe work practices, training, materials, and others) with peers and instrument technicians
• Participate in site Emergency Response activities
• Initiate and participate in Site Emergency Drills to raise awareness of Emergency Response procedures, and conduct team debriefs on conclusion of the drills
• Support the application of Policy in relation to the Drug and Alcohol policy, Company Ethics, Award conditions, etc, whilst respecting and protecting the personal rights of subordinates
• Report incidents both internally and externally (as per the Reporting Matrix) and escalate awareness as per the Incident Reporting Guidelines
• Stewardship of work plans, schedule and daily activities to maximize work teams effectiveness
• Develop, maintain, & execute maintenance service agreements
• Provide technical evaluations of material, equipment, and maintenance procedures
• Review and advise the training department on curriculum and selection of personnel for training.
• Establish maintenance execution staffing resource requirements, contractor requirements, for input to Asset Level business plan

Expected:

• 10-15 years plus experience in Oil and Gas Maintenance Operations
• 10-15 years’ Experienced in Instrumentation Installation, Fiscal metering, Electrical/ Instrumentation safety Procedures and materials (MTRs / MTCs)
• 5 years previous key leadership position within an operating oil or gas field – required
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation and control Engineering

Skills:

• Excellent communications (oral & written) in English
• Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates 
• Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment
• Previous experience working in harsh environments
• Demonstrated experience in liaising with third party contractors, business partners and local communities
• Advanced understanding of Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), safety management tools, Production Operations Best Practices (POBP), WP&B, Operated by Others (OBO) processes
• Advanced understanding and operation of Emergency Preparedness Procedures
• Good management /supervisory, interpersonal and motivation skills
• Advanced knowledge of safety management tools and processes (Step back 5x5, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment, Root cause analysis)
• Advanced understanding of Instrumentation international standards
• Advanced knowledge in testing, installation, and maintaining equipment that automates the processes that monitor and control. instrumentation that monitors and controls temperatures, pressures, flow, vibration, and other operational indicators to identify or remediate equipment malfunctions
• Experience in Fiscal metering, flow computers, DCS, Delta V systems, Siemens, Schnieder control software.
• Experience and knowledge of pressure control regulators, control valves and PSV
• Advanced understanding of Safety of equipment– EX and IS 
• Experience in Installation and maintenance of Instrumentation equipment
• Understanding of Project Philosophy and Design Specifications
• Understanding of Project regulations
