Join our team as the CCB Regulatory & External Data Services (REDS) Product Owner. In this position you will be responsible for managing reporting that is materially accurate, complete and timely for external data filings required to comply with and fulfill regulatory, financial, external and legal obligations which impact critical bank filings / submissions. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, communication and analytical skills as well as a deep understanding of transaction level regulatory reporting requirements, data flows and financial data. You will be responsible for developing and executing the product vision, strategy and roadmap. You will work closely with business owners across Risk, Fair Lending, Legal & Compliance, other Finance and LOB products and cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, architecture and data ownership teams, along with a close partnership with the REDS Technology partner, to ensure successful product delivery.
As the REDS Product Owner, you will be reporting directly to the CCB Controller with a dotted line into the Head of Product for CCB Finance & Business Management. You will oversee nine Area Products, leading a global team of 65 product, data and analytical solutions professionals. This role requires strong collaboration and influencing skills, an agile mindset, and the flexibility to adapt to changing internal & external market forces.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead complex product initiatives, juggling multiple priorities with significant regulatory and reputational risk impact
- Conduct regular REDS product cabinet meetings and oversee product budget and OKRs
- Understand the customer journey within the LOB product domain including requirements, data flows & technical architecture and timelines
- Build and maintain strong connections with senior leaders and partners within and across organization and LOBs to support product development objectives
- Integrate data analytics, product usage metrics, user experience research and stakeholder feedback, to drive prioritization of product initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage AI models aligned with business objectives and recommend process improvements and / or new solutions
- Manage critical filings, particularly CCAR FR-Y14M, HMDA LAR, FDIC Shared Loss; as a report owner, schedule owner or data contributor; with a focus on materially accurate and timely delivery of filings
- Deliver 350+ external transactional filings and data responses annually to major regulators and external parties, demonstrate depth of knowledge in regulatory requirements affecting product filings and collaboration with Firmwide Regulatory Reporting & Analysis
- Drive best-in-class product management practices, optimizing collaboration models, and refining product lifecycle delivery
- Manage demand quarterly and sprint planning for technology teams, encompassing approximately 120 software engineers
- Provide clear vision and scope documentation to support high-quality Jira initiatives and backlog management
- Focus team on software product development and building technology to create quality and scalable solutions that also reduce manual work, tech debt and infrastructure expense
- Create and manage product roadmaps, establishing an effective intake and prioritization process
- Guide teams in completing stories, troubleshooting problems, developing and delivering recommendations and solutions
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred
- 15+ years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
- Prior experience in Product Owner, Product Manager, Data & Analytics or similar role a plus
- Highly motivated self-starter, energetic, tenacious and dynamic in style with excellent program management, time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and partnering skills, ability to interact with and forge strong relationships with employees at all tenure levels across a broad range of functions, including at the executive level; experience in working with cross-functional teams including design, engineers and data & analytics
- Ability to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for regulatory and other external reporting requests and proven track record in leading technical regulatory discussions with external regulators and auditors
- Strong judgment, professional maturity, proactive, has the confidence to challenge the status quo and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and demonstrated ability to adjust and be flexible to change by adapting approach when necessary
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes and experience using Agile backlog management tools (JIRA, Confluence and PAT)
- Passion for technology and innovation as well as technical acumen and working knowledge of programming languages and data platforms, for example, Tableau, Alteryx, DataBricks, Python, SQL, AWS, Java
