As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Technology Oversight & Governance organization, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Software development experience of Micro services with Java, Spring Boot, or Apache Spark
- Hands-on experience in building large scale data warehouses and enterprise data platforms handling critical data.
- Experience in application development of distributed mission-critical Trading or Transactional Analytics systems
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, multi-threading, object-oriented development, distributed applications, client-server architecture, networks, graphs.
- Experience working with modern Lakehouse architecture(Databricks, Glue)
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing, AWS or Azure.
- Experience with query processing and tuning reports from Hive, SparkSQL
- Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets (Glue or Databricks ETL)
- Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Application development experience in delivering complicated enterprise Investment Banking application for Market Surveillance, or Investment Banking Front-office Trading Systems or Analytics Systems in FX, Commodities, Equities and Equities Derivatives domains
- Experience in Python & ML
- Financial Products knowledge of Futures & Options, FX, Commodities, Equities and Equities Derivatives, as well as trade lifecycles and/or order workflow
- Experience in data engineering
- Agile Development experience with SCRUM or similar methodologies
- TDD/ADD and Automation testing - familiarity with automated tools as such Maven, Jules, Jenkins, Cucumber etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to multi-task, proactive and attention to detail
