As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Wealth Management, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your expertise and contributions will promote significant business impact, as you apply your deep technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code in Java, and review and debug code written by others to ensure adherence to best practices and performance standards.
- Design and implement complex algorithmic, focusing on optimizing execution and performance in a low-touch trading environment.
- Collaborate with the product team to translate complex functionality into efficient and scalable algorithms.
- Continuously improve and refactor existing codebases to enhance performance, implement comprehensive testing, and ensure the reliability of trading systems.
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Hands on experience with Java,J2EE, Spring/Spring boot, AWS services, including ECS, S3, SQS, Lambda, Event Bridge, SNS and related technologies
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java/Python
- Experience with performance optimization and low-touch system design.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and multithreading in Java.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
- Basic experience with Terraform (or other IaC tools) for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.)
- Cloud certification like AWS Solution architect , Terraform certified
- Knowledge of the Wealth management and planning tool
- Expertise in using monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana and Dynatrace
