As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will play a pivotal role in ECIS - Egress, promoting innovative solutions that propel both business and career growth. You’ll collaborate with a dynamic team of technologists focused on designing and deploying large-scale infrastructure to support JPMorgan Chase’s diverse operations. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, advanced data management, and robust security practices, you’ll ensure resilient and secure platforms. The ECIS team delivers essential products such as load balancing, web application firewalls, DDoS protection, web proxy services, and global Internet routing. Responsibilities include engineering, onboarding, and maintaining services for new deployments, network refreshes, product lifecycle management, audit and compliance, and meeting customer and business demands worldwide. Success relies on critical thinking, clear communication, and strong collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships, including consultations and communication of expected completion dates.
- Maintain ongoing expectation management with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to process management and improvement by updating and creating documentation and runbooks in line with engineering standards.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Proxy issues.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to align proxy solutions with organizational goals.
- Contribute to change management process improvement by building standardized change implementation templates.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Build, test, and deploy proxy-based security solutions.
- Automate Proxy environment tasks using shell/python scripts and Ansible playbooks.
- Investigate security incidents using SEIM tools.
- Ensure end-to-end project delivery through collaboration with different roles and teams.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience with installation, migration, and decommissioning of Broadcom (Bluecoat) devices including Proxy SG, Secure Web Gateway (ISG), Symantec Content Analysis Systems (CAS), SSL Visibility appliances, and Symantec Management Center (SMC).
- Experience with SaaS-based Secure Gateway vendors such as Zscaler and Netskope.
- Good understanding of network infrastructure, network security concepts, and application layer protocols (http/https) and vulnerability mitigation.
- Good understanding of REST API and container-based deployment models.
- Understanding of version and revision control practices and procedures.
- Proficient in the use of SEIM tools for investigative purposes.
- Scripting skills for automation of Proxy environments; comfortable working with shell/python scripts and Ansible playbooks.
- Expertise in networking fundamentals including network topology, VLANs, routing, switching, global/local load balancing, and firewalls.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Organized and able to follow JPMC processes designed to minimize risk to the environment.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exhibit strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Show leadership and collaboration skills in a large enterprise environment.
- Adapt to flexible work hours, including off-hours and weekends in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
