As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls team, you serve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Carry out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives
Job Responsibilities
- Develops, manages, configures, tests, and integrates Cloud Network Security platforms, ensuring compliance with firm policies and objectives.
- Drives new Cloud security strategies, supports secure Cloud adoption, and promotes a Cloud-first mindset through collaboration with development teams.
- Champions DevOps security automation by building and maintaining Cloud-based security orchestration using DevOps tools.
- Provides technical consultation to product management, facilitates communication between development and operations, and leads product design, development, and operational transition.
- Leads the creation and improvement of technical engineering documentation, ensures quality control of deliverables, and advances the Cybersecurity software development lifecycle.
- Makes strategic decisions by analyzing complex data systems and understanding technology drivers’ impact on architecture, performance, and monitoring.
- Leads proof of concept research, develops automated security and compliance capabilities for large-scale Cloud environments, and incorporates emerging industry trends
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands on experience in Python Development.
- Proficient with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, Terraform/CloudFormation, networking tools)
- Hands-on CI/CD experience with tools such as GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins, and automation platforms like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
- Skilled in analyzing complex data systems, including conducting failure and root cause analysis.
- Proficient in developing, improving, and maintaining technical engineering documentation.
- Experienced in creating technology roadmaps and effectively promoting their benefits to internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, including workload migration and core concepts for Public, Private, and Hybrid Clouds (e.g., networking, IAM, firewalls).
- Capable of designing visibility outputs to establish baselines and demonstrate security posture against implemented controls.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relative technical field or equivalent field experience.
- AWS Associate Or Professional level Certification.
- Advanced knowledge or strong interest in cybersecurity practices, risk management, Agile methodologies, and industry technology trends, with experience in large, collaborative teams; financial or banking industry experience in Production Support and SRE is a plus.
