Description
IE University´s School of Science and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Management Science and Industrial Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate courses such as Supply Chain Management, Simulation & Experimental Design, Sustainability, and Design Engineering.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong research record in a field related to:
- Operations research methods and practice
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Data-driven decision making and stochastic modelling
- Design engineering and human centered innovation
- Supply chain management
- Smart manufacturing and industry 4.0
A doctoral degree in management science, design engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred. Prior teaching experience and evidence of academic or professional contributions in the field will be viewed favorably.
Faculty are expected to engage in high-quality research, pursue external funding, and contribute to curriculum development and university service.
We value candidates with the capacity to collaborate in applied research projects led by the Impact Xcelerator at IE School of Science and Technology, specifically in Data-Driven Decision Systems, Sustainable Supply Chains, and Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0. The ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research initiatives that apply management science and industrial engineering expertise to optimize processes, foster innovation, and build resilient, sustainable systems will be key to the role’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in Management Science and Industrial Engineering, including Supply Chain Management, Simulation & Experimental Design, Sustainability, and Design Engineering.
- Conduct high-impact research in areas such as operations research, data-driven decision making, stochastic modeling, AI and machine learning for optimization, and smart manufacturing/Industry 4.0, while actively securing competitive research funds.
- Supervise and mentor students across undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs.
- Collaborate with industry and research partners on innovative projects in sustainable supply chains, human-centered design, and intelligent manufacturing systems.
- Play an active role in curriculum development, incorporating emerging trends such as digital twins, sustainable operations, and AI-driven decision systems.
- Participate in academic service and contribute to the strategic growth of the School of Science and Technology.

Qualifications
- A PhD in management science, design engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred.
