The Delivery Lead is responsible for overseeing end-to-end delivery of complex projects and programmes, working closely with supply chain partners to ensure alignment with business strategies and outcomes. They will lead cross-functional teams to deliver agreed benefits on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role requires strong experience managing multi-million-pound projects, applying both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and driving integration-focused initiatives.
- Leadership & Supplier Coordination: Oversee IT delivery through supply chain partners; agree project delivery plans; ensure smooth transition into business-as-usual, maintain a safe and supportive working environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with sponsors and stakeholders to define business needs, lead project scope, and deliver benefits/outcomes.
- Governance & Portfolio Planning: Support business case creation, align projects to strategic priorities, manage portfolio dependencies, risks, and blockers.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure projects meet governance and regulatory requirements, engaging with airline customers where required.
- Commercial Management: Procure and contract suppliers appropriately, ensuring compliance with procurement standards and cost controls.
- Project Reporting: Provide accurate, timely progress, risk, issue, and financial reporting to governance forums.
Essential
- Proven experience leading delivery of multiple multi-million-pound projects using Agile and Waterfall.
- Track record of delivering in highly complex, fast-paced environments.
- Experience working in an outsourced model (client or supplier side).
- Accountability for full project delivery lifecycle, including financial management and commercial negotiation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to manage competing stakeholder expectations.
- Sound judgement: able to make decisions in ambiguous or difficult situations.
- High motivation: self-starter who motivates colleagues and partners towards programme goals.
- Strong accountability: takes ownership of outcomes and leads by example.
- Learning agility adapts quickly, works effectively in ambiguous situations, and drives change.
- Resilience: comfortable handling conflicting challenges and constructively challenging norms
Desirable
- Experience with project management processes (risk, change, quality, test management).
- Successful engagement with senior and challenging stakeholders.
- Background in aviation, logistics, or regulated environments.
- Exposure to big data, cloud, and automation projects.
- Experience working in a matrix environment.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
