Purpose of the Role
An exciting remote-based opportunity has arisen for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our wider Finance team, initially reporting to the Head of Internal Audit. Working with the team, you will help develop and implement the annual audit plan by leading reviews and supporting the work of other team members and contributing as part of a team.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
- Undertake the delivery of the fieldwork assigned as part of an audit that fulfils the audit objectives, manage client expectations and identify key risk areas. (UK based travel, may be required – less than 15%).
- Review the effectiveness of the control environment on operational activity, financial reporting and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations.
- Lead reviews encompassing the scoping and planning phase through to the production of reports for senior management.
- Liaise with relevant and associated areas within the business process to establish, support and maintain business relationships and organisational effectiveness.
- Support the work of other members of the department in order to complete reviews; including overseeing and reviewing the quality of internal audit work.
- Support and contribute to the Internal Audit department’s annual planning process, and the overall continuous development of the department.
Who we are looking for
This is an opportunity for an individual with significant internal audit experience and demonstrable experience of theoretical and practical knowledge of business risk and control frameworks. You will need to have:
- Ability to interpret, analyse and evaluate data
- Knowledge of process flowcharting
- An understanding of finance processes in a broking environment
- Conflict management skills
- Professional qualifications within Accounting and/or Internal Audit
