About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and oversee a designated Sales Team in achieving key corporate objectives and sales targets. This role requires a strong focus on performance management, team development, and strategic reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales success, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering regular insights on team performance to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Understand and implement FCA regulatory expectations.
  • Hold daily 15-minute pre-shift briefs covering performance, updates, and goals.
  • Set clear monthly targets; display on performance boards and test agent understanding.
  • Motivate team with regular engagement and budget-aligned incentives.
  • Deliver QA feedback and retrain underperforming agents.
  • Coach agents weekly (15 hours), track follow-up actions, and document sessions.
  • Manage team behaviours and set clear expectations.
  • Ensure monthly team targets are met; implement action plans if not.

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor agent activity, breaks, and lunches.
  • Manage holiday requests using staffing tools; liaise with HR as needed.
  • Oversee absence and shift management, update HR system in real time.
  • Conduct return-to-work 1:1s and record on correct forms; communicate with HR.

Support & Development

  • Resolve daily queries to maximise phone time and sales efficiency.
  • Manage system changes (leads, sources, client file access).
  • Hold weekly/monthly agent reviews with action plans.
  • Run weekly team meetings, record and update outcomes.

Compliance & Quality

  • Spot-check data handling and client file updates.
  • Coach agents on errors and follow up on agreed actions.

Recruitment & Other Duties

  • Assist with the recruitment process, interviews and recruitment days.
  • Carry out any other tasks to support business success.

What We’Re Looking For:

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • ✅ Previous experience working within a FCA regulated role is preferred.
  • ✅ Educated to degree level/relevant Sales Management experience.
  • ✅ Excellent interpersonal skills, including questioning and listening at all times.
  • ✅ Demonstrate confident and effective telephone skills.
  • ✅ Excellent communicator across all levels.
  • ✅ Strong problem solving and continuous improvement experience.
  • ✅ Strong commercial awareness and ability to operate at a strategic level.
  • ✅ Detailed understanding of the regulatory requirements and standards.
