You will be responsible for ensuring all plant machinery is presented, serviced, maintained and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner that complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and policy and achieves agreed productivity and quality targets.  

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills 

Along with a positive attitude and your commitment to safe worksite practises, you will have a proven ability to ensure proper care, maintenance and operation of appropriate plant and equipment. You will also have: 

• Class 5 New Zealand driver’s licence  
• Experience operating road rangers  
• Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) 
• Experience in transporting, loading and unloading machinery 

• Confident Reversing Trucks

• Capable and willing to work hands-on to support the team 
• Flexibility to travel across the South Island, including being away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time 
• Ability to work long hours, up to 60-70 per week during peak season 
• Able to work well within a large team 
• Adapt to various crews within the Surfacing teams as needed 

Experience operating in the civil construction industry (desirable)
