Job Description :

 THE ROLE 
We’re looking for an Earned Travel, Food and Beverage SAE to join our team and create standout work that will help make our clients famous. You’ll play a key support role in delivering standout work that helps make our clients famous across travel, culture, food & beverage and lifestyle sectors, working with some of the country’s most recognised brands.  

The SAE works closely with Account Directors to create smart earned first work and tap into your media contacts and stellar understanding of the Australian media landscape to deliver the best quality work across client program development, implementation and reporting, meeting and exceeding campaign KPIs, and makes a positive contribution to identifying and securing new business for the agency.  

 
For this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have your finger on the pulse and are up to date on all the latest trends in culture, travel and F&B. You will understand what makes a story great and have amazing media contacts proven through your experience working within an agency context. 

 
In addition, you will have the skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement, adaptability and responsibility to manage client activities and junior members of the team who help implement them.

Key Responsibilities

 
Be the wow factor for clients 

  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships with clients, and their stakeholders such as media 
  • Prepare basic media strategies and programs for clients and make a solid contribution to more complex ones 
  • Working with senior managers, prepare and regularly review and update detailed project/program plans including working timetables of activity to ensure successful implementation and achievement of KPIs 

Bring your Black Book of media and influencer contacts 

  • Develop and cultivate a wide range of relationships across mainstream and specialist media relevant to client base 
  • Bring your creativity, developing unique, relevant and newsworthy story angles 
  • Cultivate strong relationships with social influencers relevant to client base 
  • Develop high quality media releases, pitches and materials, including research, writing, editing, collating and distributing through relevant social media channels 
  • Monitor and report on client and industry media activity ensuring media coverage is provided in the best quality and as quickly as possible 

Be an event manager extraordinaire 

  • Plan and implement events including research, venue, catering, talent selection and management, theming and decoration, speaker briefs and speech writing 
  • Manage guest lists, invitations and RSVPs 
  • Provide quality control, issues management and hands on support at the event, and professionally interact with clients, stakeholders and guests 

Be a culture driver 

  • Be a driving force for culture within the agency and our team; share your knowledge of culture (youth culture, subculture, internet culture), trends and audiences to fuel culturally meaningful ideas and insights 
  • Be a force for positive and approachable creativity, contribute creatively to projects, new business and campaign development 
  • Bring ideas to the table that will push the creative team, the wider agency and our clients into tomorrow 

Be a dynamo part of the Consumer and Brand and wider HAVAS Red team

The Basics

  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism (or similar) would be great (but not mandatory) 
  • Experience and contacts within the Australian media, with key relationships across news, lifestyle, luxury, food and beverage and travel 
  • A minimum two years full-time in agency or similar experience and proven proficiency to perform tasks required to a high standard 

Knowledge Requirements 
This position requires specific in-depth theoretical and technical knowledge of: 
 

  • The communications industry, theories and practice 
  • Australian politics, society, news, media, influencers and social media 
  • The agency's clients’, their industry sectors, customers and stakeholders/key influencers 
  • The legal and ethical behavioural expectations of the Australian communication practitioners
