Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center is seeking a collaborative psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of our 35-patient Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role offers the opportunity to advance Mount Sinai’s mission of delivering high quality, compassionate behavioral health care while working in a vibrant downtown community and an academic setting known for research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, care coordinators, psychiatry residents and other trainees.
  • Provide patient care including evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, group treatment, and disposition planning.
  • Supervise psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees; orient new learners to the service.
  • Contribute to the development of an academic IOP didactic curriculum in coordination with the residency training program leadership.
  • Ensure clinical quality, safety, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to use quality metrics and data to guide workflow and process improvements.
  • Support program growth and integration with other ambulatory psychiatry services at Mount Sinai in collaboration with Medical Director of Ambulatory Services
  • Provide cross-coverage as needed within the scope of Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center ambulatory services.
  • MD or DO; completion of accredited psychiatry residency
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Current New York State medical license and DEA registration
  • Strong clinical, teaching, and collaborative skills

Compensation range from $275K - $300K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits
