The Role:

Serving as a key member of the North Division leadership team, the Director of Strategy and Business Development reports to the Division Chief Strategy Officer and assists in developing, evaluating, and implementing critical business strategies of enterprise-wide impact throughout Providence-Swedish. In support of the Division Chief Strategy Officer, you will oversee the day-to-day Strategy & Business Development needs of the Division, leading complex, large-scale projects including strategic and business planning, clinical program development, physician alignment and integration strategies, strategic affiliations and partnerships, market analytics, planning and forecasting, expansion initiatives, and coordination with System shared services teams.

What You’Ll Do?

  • Strategic Leadership: Support the Division Chief Strategy Officer in leading, evaluating, and implementing strategic and business plans to drive Division, Service Area, and market-specific growth plans, including new clinical programs and services.
  • Project Management: Lead complex, multidisciplinary projects, utilizing project management tracking tools, facilitating meetings, and preparing dashboards and metrics for performance tracking.
  • Market Assessments: Conduct assessments to identify opportunities/threats across the continuum and develop recommendations for program and service development or expansion.
  • Partnership Development: Evaluate and support strategic affiliations, joint ventures, and partnerships, including due diligence and deal structuring.
  • Financial Stewardship: Partner with Finance to develop pro forma and ROI analysis for new business partnerships.
  • Team Building: Create and engage high-performing teams around development and implementation of key initiatives.
  • Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations to System, Division, and Service Area leadership on strategic initiatives and market trends.

What You'Ll Bring:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a leadership role within a health system or consulting firm, with a proven track record in healthcare strategy, operations and/or business development.
  • Strategic Acumen: Expertise in developing business cases, financial models, strategic planning, and market analytics.
  • Influence and Collaboration: Strong ability to influence leaders across various domains and build effective working relationships with diverse teams.
  • Innovative Thinking: Experience in implementing program growth strategies and consumer engagement models in competitive environments.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptionally well-developed written, verbal, and presentation skills for engaging all levels of the organization.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare strategy, operations and/or business development across the continuum of care and emerging market trends.
