As a Digital Cloud Solution Architect, you will proactively help with winning the technical decision of the customer. This opportunity will have you gather insights about client business and learn technical requirements to propose viable solutions to clients and support their digital transformation based on Microsoft technologies. You will architect solutions to meet client's business and IT needs, ensure technical viability and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources, partners and Microsoft technologies as appropriate.
This role is part of Global SMB segment, working primarily with digital natives, enterprises, and small businesses that maintain a direct relationship with Microsoft. Success is measured by net-new revenue contribution; workload adoption and expansion across the assigned portfolio.

Responsibilities
Sales Customer Engagements
- Engages with and reaches out to customer technical decision makers with coaching from others. Seeks information about the customer to learn about their business, industry, needs, and key priorities.
- Develops understanding of current customer context and anticipates next steps. Uses product expertise to build credibility with customers individually or at scale.
- Drives technical wins or portions of technical wins with support from peers. Improves customer interactions through feedback and observation.
- Engages other resources, leveraging basic resource knowledge, for key areas of technology as needed to overcome technical blockers on assigned technology set.
Scale Through Partners
- Engages in partner sell-with scenarios by contributing to the facilitation of technical engagements and partnering with colleagues to manage the sales process.
- Reviews customer interactions and raises and acts on competitive information to account teams to contribute to development and landing of compete strategies.
- Learns about and uses existing demonstration assets. Contributes to demonstrations of solutions based on specific Microsoft products through initial engagements and coaching from senior colleagues. Leverages partner/customer teams as needed to prove product capabilities and integration into customer environment. Reviews partner demonstrations and provides feedback to ensure alignment with Microsoft standards.
- Assists team members to monitor, analyze, or implement action plans to promote customer usage of key/prioritized Microsoft solutions/products that support customer’s business outcomes.
Architecture Design and Deployment
- Solicits input from others to contribute to proposals for viable solutions based on specific technical products. Demonstrates basic technical concepts and proves the capability of those solutions through design collaboration sessions with the customer/partner.
- Provides support for pilots and proof of concept development for technical architectures.
- Supports customer/partner projects as needed for specified architecture solutions by investigating a solution area and assisting in research and testing out concepts developed by more senior architects.
Driving Customer Success
- Collaborates to build aligned customer timelines that capture sponsorship and projects tied to technology outcomes that add customer value.
- Acts as the Voice of the Customer by driving awareness of new feedback, blockers, insights, resources, etc. (e.g., OneList, End Customer Investment Funds) items across communities so they can be added and prioritized.
- Executes according to rhythm of business, captures insights, and uses available tools to drive success of Microsoft cloud solutions by contributing to engagements that others own. Drives One Microsoft mindset.
Technical Leadership
- Consumes and leverages readiness materials (technical and professional) to expand domain knowledge and practices expertise by communicating with customers, partners, and senior colleagues). Builds own awareness of digital transformation sales methodologies (e.g., challenger sales).
- Participates as a member in the Microsoft tech community, attends community calls, sessions, hackathon, etc. and participates in external architect community events (e.g. conferences, seminars, technical meetups).
- Ensures customer technical teams are aware of and leveraging available skilling programs (e.g. ESI or other digital architect led workshops).

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Experience working as a trusted technical advisor or managing business relationships in technical sales, consultative sales or technical solutions.
- OR Relevant certifications from Microsoft or competitive platforms of technical architect, technical consulting, design and implementation technical sales experience
- OR 2+ years experience in technical architect, technical consulting, design and implementation, and/or technical sales
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in technical architect, consulting, design and implementation, and/or sales
- 1+ year(s) experience with cloud-based solution designs, migrations and management of technology.

- Microsoft is unable to sponsor a work visa for this role due to the nature of the role’s job duties.
Digital Cloud Solution Architecture IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $32.84 - $66.30 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $44.81 - $72.69 per hour.
