Job Duties
- Engages in constructive dialogue with supervisors.
- Relates instructions and feedback of supervisors to personal knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Acknowledges and follows through on coaching and/or instruction related to performance correction, enhancement, and/or development.
- Conducts research as supervised by the PI of the grant in productive manners.
- Communicates scientific discoveries in publications and conference presentations.
- Helps to maintain the research facility and instruments in the lab of the PI.
- Helps to train other people including students on research techniques and instrument operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong laboratory technical skills in molecular biology, genomics, and biochemistry, including DNA, RNA, protein extractions and assessments, real-time PCR, library preparations, sequencing with Illumina, Nanopore, and/or PacBio technologies, enzymatic analysis, among others.
Strong analytical skills for large scale structural and functional genomic data analysis, including genome assembly and annotation, transcriptomic analysis, epigenomic analysis, and comparative genomics.
Strong communication skills in scientific writings and public presentations of research.

Additional Considerations
Research experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence is a great plus.
